We've got a special cask lined up for Wednesday, August 17th:
Whoop Pass Double IPA Conditioned on Basil!
The intensely piney hop character of the Whoop lends itself brilliantly to the delicate earthiness of fresh basil.
What is cask conditioned ale, and how is it different than typical draft ale?
A cask of ale is "conditioned" or allowed to undergo a secondfermentation in the actual cask from which it is served.
In this old world method, used in British pubs for centuries, the beer is naturally carbonated and in it's most natural state. The beer is tapped and served without adding CO2 gas and is allowed to warm and vent throughout the evening.
