The Old Scrooge Vertical Tasting has been a fan-favorite event since the inception of Silver City Brewery's taproom back in 2012. Celebrating an English-style barleywine that benefits immensely from extended aging, this particular event provides craft beer lovers the opportunity to try past vintages of Old Scrooge that have been aged in perfect cellar conditions in the Brewmaster's private library.
Several varieties of Old Scrooge will be available for sampling, including barrel-aged variants, as well as a few other rare beers from the Brewmaster's collection.
Silver City Brewery has partnered with Poulsbo, WA's Caffe Cocina to provide food pairings. Admission will include a four-course tapas presentation crafted specifically to accompany Old Scrooge Christmas Ale.
In addition to the sampling at the event, attendees will have early-access to purchase the 2016 Old Scrooge Vertical Collector's Set.
This four-pack of bottles includes three distinct vintages of the Old Scrooge Christmas Ale, the most recent vintage of Bourbon Barrel-Aged Old Scrooge, and a collectible 16oz tulip glass emblazoned with the Old Scrooge & Silver City Brewery logos.
The packs are a limited-edition release of 72 units and will retail for $59.99/set.
