What is cask conditioned ale, and how is it different than typical draft ale?
A cask of ale is "conditioned" or allowed to undergo a second fermentation in the actual cask from which it is served.
In this old world method, used in British pubs for centuries, the beer is naturally carbonated and in it's most natural state. The beer is tapped and served without adding CO2 gas and is allowed to warm and vent throughout the evening.
Like cutting into a fresh cantaloupe... if it were filled with a metric sh*t-ton of ripe, fragrant hops soaked in pineapple juice. Ripe ‘N Juicy gains its signature dense, hazy body from the reaction of a specialized yeast strain with a hearty dose of flaked wheat. A massive canvas for a brilliantly fruity hop experience.
